One Semester Participating in Creative Writing Course

 

    Writing in the Big Indonesian Dictionary is giving birth to thoughts or feelings. Nurgiyantoro stated that writing is an activity of expressing ideas through the medium of language. Based on several expert opinions regarding the purpose of writing, it can be concluded that the purpose of writing is for the reader to know, understand and understand the values in a piece of writing so that the reader thinks, thinks or does something related to the content of the writing. Here I will give a few statements and also some comments during my study of Creative Writing with Ma'am Nurul Chojimah in this one semester.

    Basically, writing is the same as speaking, because the language material used is the same, namely words and sentences. The difference is, writing requires knowledge of spelling and punctuation. Thus, writing is nothing but an effort to transfer spoken language into written form, but often writing is considered a difficult language skill, because writing is associated with art, so that writing feels easy to read, accurate, clear, concise. Regarding the method taught or given, in my opinion, it is easy to implement and work on. Namely by writing a minimum of 15 sentences on our personal blog using a free title according to how we express it.

    From the statement above it can be concluded that writing activity is an activity that is obtained or carried out by carrying out systematic writing processes or stages so that writing can be understood or understood by other people or readers. Apart from the need for writing processes or stages, writing activities also require writing skills which are divided into several abilities, including productive language skills, word processing skills, the ability to express ideas or ideas into a systematic sequence. As an activity or thought process, when writing a person is required to have good reasoning so as to produce good writing as well. Reasoning in writing is the basis for writing activities. So that a writer usually has good reasoning abilities and is also systematic to produce writing. This is also related to the topics given by Ma'am Nurul, he does not determine or does not require us to use the topics he suggests but instead he gives us students the freedom to take topics that are free according to our expressions. So that we are free to write whatever we want to write.

    The final writing stage is the publication stage. The writing stage, namely this publication is the last process in the writing stage. At this stage, writers usually have the courage to send their writings to publishers or to companies that publish writings, be it magazines, publishers, and so on. However, in this Creative Writing course, Ma'am Nurul instructs us to create a personal blog, where the goal is to publish the results of the writing we have written and collect links from the blog in a google classroom that has been provided by him with a predetermined deadline. determined.

    In making creative writing, there are many obstacles faced by a writer, especially myself, obstacles that make this writing difficult to understand the meaning and meaning for readers. I often feel this tendency, because when I write in spelling and using affixes there are often exaggerations so that the writing seems more boring to readers. Someone who is just learning to write feels laziness that often arises due to a lack of confidence in writing, so that the work is slow and the news conveyed tends to be preceded by others. In editing a piece of writing it is important, but don't overdo it, just add what is necessary.

    From the statement that I stated above, it gave me a lot of benefits and wisdom that I got. By writing as Ma'am Nurul taught me, I can express all my ideas and thoughts. I also learned to focus on writing. I am very grateful for everything that has been taught and the inspiration given. I am able to think broadly and can see things from various points of view. Hopefully in the future this course will provide benefits and can become memorable writing lessons for other students.
